Our Plans for NGO Storytelling in 2017

Last year, Laura and I decided to keep NGO Storytelling alive for another year. We saw it as a way to give back to the community that had done so much for us. We were blown away by how well it went.

And even though it was awesome, it doesn’t even compare to how excited we are about what comes next. In November, Laura and I had our first annual business retreat. We spent a lot of time looking at our analytics, which means we were technically stalking all of you (but in a good way!). We looked at your favorite posts, your comments, and the emails you sent us. We brainstormed new ways we could help inspire and inform you about nonprofit storytelling.

We left the retreat feeling like there were ways that we could do more to help you create incredible photo and video stories for your nonprofit. So based on your feedback and our commitment to dignified and respectful storytelling, we are considering developing an online course that helps humanitarian storytellers. But we don’t want to make just any course. We want to make a course that you really need. A course that addresses the problems you face every day and supports you in the ways that you need to be supported.

We have some ideas on how to do that but we believe the best ideas come from collaboration. Will you do us a favor and take a minute to fill out our survey? We know your time is valuable so we’ve kept it short. Thank you for being willing to help us as we move NGO Storytelling forward.

If you have other ideas on how we can help each other and grow our community please drop Laura or me a line at hello@ngostorytelling.com. We are so excited about all 2017 holds and the incredible stories that we can tell together.
