Internews seeks a Media Specialist/Advisor for a USAID-funded civil society and media support program in Honduras. The Media Specialist/Advisor is responsible for capacity building of Honduran media partners, as well as promoting a strategic communications approach to catalyze public demand for accountability, and incorporating this approach as crosscutting to all results of the program. Media Officer/Special Media Relations for Oxfam Intermón in Central African Republic

The Media Officer will contribute to the internal and external communication of Oxfam's activities in CAR. He or she will therefore be responsible for developing and implementing a media strategy that highlights Oxfam's humanitarian, protection and advocacy programs in CAR while respecting the dignity and safety of our beneficiaries.

He or she will increase the visibility of this crisis and draw national and international media attention to the key moments and issues of the crisis. He or she will then be a media anchor producing products for publications through several channels (website, social media and mass media). He or she will regularly provide information on the situation in CAR and contribute to the communication work of all members of the Oxfam confederation on the CAR. · Excellent command of French and English (oral and written) required.

Communications Specialist for Right to Play in Rwanda

The Communications Specialist is responsible for managing the communication plan and activities in the country of operation. S/He is expected to assist in enhancing the organization's overall public image in the country.

  • Develops and implements an annual communications plan, in line with the country office strategy.

  • Develops a system to produce impact stories, videos and photographs of teachers and children in our programs; oversees data archiving.

  • Establishes systems and procedures for monitoring and evaluation of the impact of communications activities and products of the project.

  • Promotes and ensures media coverage of project activities with press releases, press conferences, photo coverage and interviews, etc. by building and maintaining a network of communications contacts with the press, governmental agencies, international institutions and civil society in the country.

  • Develops a social media strategy for various platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. and trains staff in social media use.

Regional Media & Communications Officer for International Organization for Migration in Dakar, Senegal

Deadline: October 30, 2018

  • Assist the Regional Director in managing the Regional Office’s communication activities, including in leading the formulation and implementation of an external outreach and communications strategy to raise awareness of IOM and its work in the region, and to promote an accurate narrative on migration in the media, among the UN and other key IOM partners based in Dakar and in the region as well as among the general public.

  • Write, edit and produce public information material for IOM’s bi-weekly press briefing notes, website and social media and other media outlets as requested.

  • Provide guidance and talking points as requested to colleagues in the region and HQs regarding on-going media requests and interview opportunities.

  • Produce content in the form of human interest stories from the field, by collecting multimedia content and by training staff to produce content

  • Contribute to the Regional Office’s overall efforts on advocacy, liaison and communication work with/to the European Union, the UN and other agencies based in Dakar and in the region, including by participating in the meetings and joint initiatives of the United Nations Communications Group in Dakar, and engaging in partnerships with the UN agencies, national and international organizations, as well as media outlets and think-tank organizations based in Dakar and in the region in the field of communications.

Graphic/Motion Designer for Médecins Sans Frontières in Brussels, Belgium

Thanks to its power of visualization and simplification, infographics and motion design can help us reach a large audience in a memorable way and help audiences understand an issue in one moment. The Graphic/Motion Designer will be producing and adapt infographics, design layout, motion design, animation and multimedia content. The Graphic/Motion Designer will be producing for operational communication (70%) but also for internal projects (30%). He/she will also be in charge of developing updated policies and standards for design production and for maintaining organized archives in design. The “Graphic/Motion Designer” works within the MSF OCB Combo Unit, in the Creative Content Team (CCT) and reports to the Creative Content Team Leader.
